What's Your Story?

We've all got one... that one memorable anecdote that leaves an impression with people about who you are, what you do, and why they shouldn't forget you.

It's your story.... and like your YOUisms, it's 100% your own.

Communications professionals can help us to convey our most prized and trusted key messages - but more importantly, they show us how to use them in language that will resonate with your public: community, media, partners, suppliers, customers. These are the people on whom your success depends.

We all have stories  Even if you have a short history with your business. How you came to be can be quite interesting in the hands of a true PR professional. Stories are sometimes a much better way to convey your key messages and can give clues on how to creatively deliver it.

Stories are a TOOL More importantly, stories offer a key PR tool - credibility.  They let people know you have been there, done that - and you've found a better way.

Leave the Kleenex Your story doesn't have to be mushy or emotional, leaving people with a tear in their eye. Stories can do many things:

inspire

reveal

intrigue

rally

confirm

caution

Ditch the hood  So, instead of focusing on that stunning Red Cape you've been traipsing around in, you may just discover a beautiful warrior underneath it. Don't be afraid to share your story with your PR or marketing team and get to your true story.
